Cornwall County League Playoff Final 2026 TR1 V TR2
The grand finale between the top two teams in the Cornwall league saw
Truro 1 take on Truro 2 over 4 strings for the right to be crowned
2026 champions!

Tr1: Conor O'kane, George Marley (capt), Myles Roberts and Neil Counter.

TR2: Owen London, Luke Mabbott, Callum Oliver and Tom Newberry (capt)

Neil Counter played Tom Newberry at 4th string showcasing a huge
contrast of styles. Neil at age 59 is still extraordinarily flexible, mobile and
reactive while Tom, 30 years younger, relies on shot quality and early hitting
to move his opponents around. Tom edged the encounter 3/1
At 3rd string Myles Roberts played Callum Oliver. Both are in the County
first team squad and the quality of this match was a couple of levels up.
The pace, line hitting, counter attacking and clean movement was an
absolute treat to watch and after a monumental first game, Callum run out
the winner 3/1.

George Marley and Luke Mabbott then took to the court at no2 and played a
quick, dynamic match with Luke showing super pace, variety of shot and subtle
touches to push through 3/0.

The final match of the season between Conor O'Kane and Owen London
was a fitting finale to a great evening of competitive action. The no1s
fought out a brilliant 5 set match with outrageous rallies and excellent
physicality. Owen ended the season on a high by taking the win.
